"The Motown Times" (July 1968 - July 1975) Young Michael bursts onto the music scene with his brothers, The Jackson 5. Michael will also cut his first solo record at the tender age of 13 and establish himself as an accomplished and polished performer. These years are a whirlwind of performances, recording, television appearances, interviews and constant touring.
This period goes from the time the Jackson 5 have been officially signed to Motown Records on July 26, 1968, until just before the time of the New York press conference where they announce their signing with CBS/Epic Records. VISIT HERE
"CBS/Epic Times" (July 1975 - October 1978) Michael and his brothers leave Motown and start writing and producing their own music. Before the decade is over, they record 3 albums for Epic records and embark on a worldwide tour.
This period includes the time the Jacksons hold a press conference in New York to announce they have signed with CBS/Epic Records and will be leaving Motown records at the expiration of their contract in July 1975, up to the filming/making of "The Wiz" (before the release). VISIT HERE
